"Wayne was baptized on December 7, 1941. He often referred to himself as a history baby because he was baptized the same day Pearl Harbor was invaded. He grew up on the family farm in Currie and attended school in Currie and Tracy. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1959. He worked in construction for a few years while also farming. He was a member of the Army Reserve from 1963 to 1971. In August of 1965, Wayne married Dorothy Reiter at IHM Catholic Church in Currie. Wayne and Dorothy resided on the same farm Wayne had grown up on. They raised two children: Doug & Kathy. Wayne retired from farming in August of 1985 but continued to help Paul and Pam Gervais on their farm. He finished his working career as a Superintendent of Greens at Tracy Country Club. Wayne was a member of IHM Church, the American Legion Post #322, Currie Town and Country as well as the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Murray Township Board for forty years. Wayne loved to watch the Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid golfer. Wayne recorded a hole in one at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club witnessed by his son, son-in-law and grandson during a 2005 Jensen family vacation. He really enjoyed hunting with the annual deer hunt being his favorite. Wayne & Dorothy were fortunate to winter in Texas for many years, which was always an annual highlight for Wayne."
