Wayne Maurice Powell was born May 23, 1953, in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Chris Powell and Helen P. Evan. He attended Fort Pierce Central High School and was a member of the class of 1971. Wayne furthered his studies in Business Management at Massy Business School. He worked in Code Enforcement for the city of Ft. Pierce and a Supervisor for the CDBG program for three years. He enjoyed sports, old-school rhythm and blues. Of all things, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a fun loving person who loved life and would often be found laughing or making others laugh.

On August 21, 2018, Wayne went home to be with The Lord. Wayne was preceded in death by her parents, Chris Powell and Helen P. Evans; Sister, Rosalyn Gaulden.

Wayne is survived by her beloved son, Wayne Maurice Jr.; sisters: Debra (John) Blair, Patricia Wooden; brother, Cedric Evans Nephews: Calvin Banks, III, Isail Stewart II, and Christopher Stewart; nieces, Latonya Wooden, Katina Walker, and Catherine Banks. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.

A visitation for Mr. Wayne M. Powell will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 3 – 7 p.m. at Stone Brothers Funeral Home – Fort Pierce. A Funeral Service will be held on September 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church - Fort Pierce, Bishop Ronald Wright Sr. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
