December 22, 1944 - August 29, 2018
ALBANY – Robert E Painter, 73, was called home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, following an extended illness.
Bob was born on December 22, 1944, to David Murray and Martha Jane Painter in Muncie and had lived all of his adult life in rural Albany. He worked for many years at Muncie Office Supply and was an avid sports fan, having competed in recreational softball, basketball, bowling, and golf. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren and was one of their biggest fans. Bob was an excellent craftsman and transformed the family home of 54 years many times through additions and renovations as well as helping his children with projects on their homes.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, whom he married on August 3, 1963. He has two daughters, Kimberly Painter of Albany and Kris Painter of Terre Haute; as well as two sons and daughters-in-law, Robb and Johanna Painter of Greensburg and Rick and Julie Painter of Muncie; seven grandchildren, Shelby Boles (husband, Jacob), Chaz Painter, Charlie Frensemeier, Ashton Painter, Ian Frensemeier, Ella Painter, and Alaina Painter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Michael Painter.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Eden Church. Burial will follow in Strong Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday or one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eden Church, 11205 N. SR 3, Muncie, IN 47303.
