Myrtle “Pauline” Thomas, 97, went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 24, 2018.

She was born on Sand Mountain, AL and grew up there in the area of Browntown. Industry brought her to the Rossville area where she worked for over 50 years at the Peerless Woolen Mill and C.D. Genter as an industrial seamstress. Her passions included gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her country cooking, and especially her fried peach pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. “Claude” Bethune and Winnie Bethune; her sisters, Evelyn Davis and Jewell Allmon; and her brother, Waylon Bethune.

Survivors include her son, K. Lamar (Pam) Thomas; daughter, Janice Hughes (Charlie Stephens); brother, Tommy Bethune; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Thomas, Amy (Brad) Taylor, Adam (Jenny) Thomas, and Jared (Mandi) Powell; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Tina Baine for her loving care.

Graveside services will be Wednesday 2 PM CST at Trinity UMC Cemetery with Pastor Jason Thomas and Adam Thomas officiating.
