Samuel Joe "Joe" Neal was called home by the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the age of 61. Joe was born June 22, 1957 in Victoria, Texas to Charles and Erma Neal. Joe attended high school at Lookeba-Sickles and graduated with the class of 1976. In December of 1976 he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served three years with the 82nd Airborne and was an Army Ranger. After serving in the Army, Joe attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and received his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He worked at the Anadarko Police Department for fifteen years where he gained the rank of Captain. Prior to Joe's death, he was employed at the Grady County Jail and was at the rank of Sergeant. Joe was a family man and loved his family dearly. His grandkids were very special to him. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, Star Wars and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Joe touched the lives of many people and leaves many wonderful memories for his family and friends to cherish. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Maria of the home; sons: David and Daniel Neal of the home; daughter, Elizabeth Neal Henneman and husband, Trevor of Gracemont, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Addison, Alexa Rae and Dallas Henneman; parents, Charles D. and Erma Neal of Hinton, Oklahoma; brother: Tim Neal and wife, April of Gardner, Kansas; sisters: Sharon Parks and husband, Frank of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Donna Beach and husband, Mike of Gracemont, Oklahoma; mother and father-in-law, Tim and Maria Moreno of Gracemont, Oklahoma; three brothers-in-law, Daniel Moreno and wife, Carla of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Raul Moreno of Gracemont, Oklahoma, Ruben Moreno and wife, Kathleena of Apache, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Jamie Neal

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Anadarko. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Funeral serves are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
