Emily was the daughter of Henry Klyce and Mary Byrd Perrow. She married Hubert Fisher and they had two children.
Emily was murdered by unknown assailants looking for drugs they believed her son had at the house. Two individuals charged with the crime were acquitted and as of 1999 no new suspects had been identified.

EMILY KLYCE FISHER, 52, of Memphis, died of stab wounds Monday at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church with burial in Memorial Park. Memorial Park (Midtown) Funeral Home Hinds-Smythe Chapel has charge.
She was a longtime volunteer for the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association, where she helped with deliveries through its Meals on Wheels program. A classical guitarist, Mrs. Fisher co-founded the Memphis Classical Guitar Society and was a member of the Memphis Symphony League. She also was a member of the board of directors of the Memphis Symphony and was the chairman of this year's season ticket drive. The Memphis Symphony will dedicate its weekend series of concerts to her memory and establish a memorial fund in her name. Mrs. Fisher also served on the boards of the Memphis Youth Symphony, Theater Memphis, Memphis Ballet and Art Today, and was a charter member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
She graduated from Miss Hutchison's school and attended Wellesley College. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina where she was in Phi Beta Kappa, she received her master of arts degree from Columbia University and was a certified public accountant.

Fisher III, also leaves a daughter, Rebecca Meriwether of Chicago; a son, Hubert Frederick Adrian Fisher of Minneapolis; two sisters, Katherine Perrow Klyce of New Haven, Conn., and Ellen Byrd Klyce of New Hope, Pa., and a brother, Henry Arnold Klyce Jr. of Piedmont, Calif.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to MIFA, the Memphis Arts Council or the Memphis Symphony.
