RAMEY — Jesse Howe, 72, of Ramey, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, surrounded by his family at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield after a lengthy illness.
Born on July 26, 1946 in Altoona, he was the son of the late Jess and Genevieve (Grove) Howe.
On May 9, 1970, he married Paulette Philage in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Houtzdale. She survives at home.
Jesse was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
He worked for 15 years at Glen O. Hawbaker as a heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of Christ the King Parish, Houtzdale, and was a 3rd degree knight in the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Valley Council 10376.
He enjoyed golfing with his brother Bill, going to the casinos, and playing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica Dillon and her husband Derek; three brothers, William (Gloria) Howe, Russell (Cheri) Howe, Walter (Amy) Howe; four sisters, Delores Litzinger, Ruby (Ray) Clark, Sarah (James) Conaway, and Catherine (Frank) Updike.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Paige, Avery, and Zane Dillon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Kephart; infant sisters, Beverly and Ruth Howe; and a nephew, Steve Howe.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Parish, Houtzdale. The Rev. Marc J. Solomon will be celebrant.
Interment with military honors will follow at Alexander Cemetery, Madera.
