Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Dustin Dought, pastor of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Charlotte Jagneaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, One Bread, One Body and On Eagle’s Wings.
Mr. David was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, where he was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He was employed at Awning & Supply in Lafayette since 1957. Joseph loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved to joke and make people laugh.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Joseph David, Sr. of Youngsville; one daughter, Celiza Potier and her husband, Mark, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Rockey Potier and Amanda Mire, Melinda Potier, Glenn Joseph David, Jr., Max Anthony David, Jammie Jacobson and her husband, David; five great grandchildren, Irin Jacobson, Ive Jacobson, Iden Jacobson, Bentley Potier and Emma David.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Girard David; his parents, Adam David and the former, Celiza Credeur; three brothers, Preston David, Milton David and Camille David; and three sisters, Rena D. Chiasson, Agnes D. LeMaire and Lorena D. Jackson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Acadian Hospice for their care and support.
