Hazel Rose-Lambert, 92 of Davy, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 following a long illness. Mrs. Lambert attended the Indian Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, working in her flowers and her dog, Goldie Mae.
Born May 13, 1921 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Jeston Corbett Rose (1893-Deceased) and Viola Belle Walker-Rose (1899-Deceased). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Lambert (Deceased); a daughter, Phyllis Lambert (Deceased); three sisters, Eunice Grace Rose-Thomas (1924-2013), Janice Lee Rose-Wingler (1930-2007) and Iris Rose-Green (Deceased); and a brother, Norman James Rose (1925-1977).
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Lambert-Belcher and her husband Roger Belcher of Fanrock, Diana Lambert-Young and her husband Jerry Young of Pineville, and Reba Lambert-Morgan and her husband Mark Morgan of Fanrock; two brothers, Calvin Rose (B. 1928) of Concord, NC and Ray Rose of Princeton; two sisters, Garnett Rose-Gullett (1918-Deceased) of Welch and Wilma Rose-Pack (B. 1936) of Woodbridge, VA; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Calfee Funeral Service located at 614 Appalachian Highway in Pineville, WV. Service will be Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Gary Walker and the Rev. Teddy Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery, Briar Creek. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral and Cremation Service, Pineville.
