Sandra Sue Cole, 77 of Arlington went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 16, 1941 to Wiley and Erma (Winstead) Higley. Sandy married the love of her life, John Paul Cole, on October 20, 1962. Last October they celebrated 55 years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 children, Shelly (Jim) Heacock of Arlington, Nanette (Phil) Eonta of Cranberry Township, PA, and Scott (Julie) Cole of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren Mitchell (Jenny) Heacock, Morgan Heacock, Mackenzie Heacock, Evan Pucci, Alexis Pucci, Joshua Cole and Chelsea Cole; and great-grandchildren: Ava Heacock and Lucas Heacock. She is survived by her sister Nancy Vandenburg of Dayton; brothers Jerry (Marianne) Higley and Lionel Higley, both of Findlay. She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Higley and sister Patricia Higley. A loving wife, wonderful mom, and a special grandma, she served faithfully at Bible Fellowship Church as a Sunday School teacher, deaconess, and especially enjoyed organizing dinners for the senior saints of the church and delivering pies and meals to those who were unable to get out. She worked as a nurse for Drs. Treece, Burson, Penn, Freshwater and Walton for over 40 years, and retired from Arlington Family Practice. Sandy enjoyed flower gardening, spending summertime at Joslin Lake, shopping with the girls, and traveling with family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and could always be found in the stands at any of their events cheering them on or baking their favorite treat. Visitation will be held at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 pm. A service celebrating Sandy's life will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation an hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00 am). Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
