Larry E. Durham, 75, of Springfield, died at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at his home. Larry was born April 14, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Edward T. and Wilma E. Sowers Durham. He married Barbara Brault on August 24, 1986, in Springfield.
Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. James Church in Riverton. Larry loved to dance, spend time with his family, and eat KFC on picnics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward T. Durham and Wilma Reese; step-father, William Reese; brothers, John W. Durham and Paul D. Reese; and sister, Debra S. Reese.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Barb Durham of Springfield; his children, Tom Durham of Riverton, Trina (husband, Bob) Wilson of CA, Larry (wife, Terri) Durham, Jr. of TN, Jason (wife, Cathy) Yates of La Place, IL, Frank (wife, Cherie) Yates of White Bear Lake, MN, and Burt (wife, Debbie) Yates of TX; very special grandchildren, Neko and Brandon Motley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (wife, Jane) Durham of Pekin, Tom Durham of Springfield, Randall Durham of Springfield, Dennis (wife, Tami) Durham of Springfield, Diane (husband, John) Thresher of Manito, Kay (husband, George) Downey of Springfield, Vicki (husband, Jack) Williams of Springfield, Deborah Talbott of Springfield, and Karen (husband, James) Hope of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special family and friends, Paul and Jolene Ealey of Springfield and Kirsten Mosley of Riverton.
