Chelsea Eckels Nelson, 89, of Englewood, Fla., died Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Englewood. She was born Aug. 4, 1928, in Jeannette, the daughter of Harry and Leona Krotz Eckels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Nelson; and a son, Dale Nelson. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Nelson, of Osprey Fla., and Darryl Nelson, of Cape Coral, Fla.; a daughter, Sue Gongaware Nelson and husband, Larry, of Ligonier; and two grandchildren, Kara Gongaware Tangie and Emmanuel, of Latrobe, and Logan Gongaware. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Englewood United Methodist Church. There will also be a memorial Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in Pennsylvania, location to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E Dearborn St., Englewood FL 34223.
