Seth Dawson Barnes Jr. passed away on August 25, 2018 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Joann Barnes nee Brunner; daughter, Judy (Don) Cozart; two sons, Jimmy (Janet) Barnes; Donnie (Alison) Barnes; sister, Inez (Bill) Copelin; 6 grandchildren, Jesse, Brittany, Tyler, Rachel, Joshua, Garrett; 7 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aspen, Casen, Walker, Holden, Sadie, Rylen. He is preceded in death by his father, Seth Dawson Barnes Sr., mother, Helen May Barnes nee Brown. Seth graduated from Springfield High in Springfield, IL. Following high school he went on to attend college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for 2 years. After college Seth met Joann Brunner and then proceeded to serve our country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. After coming back home from service he married Joann and they happily celebrated 55 years of marriage. He worked at McDonnel Douglas as a missile inspector for 38 years and retired in 1995. After retirement he enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting, working on cars (was a Ford man), enjoyed collecting coins, an avid card player, and big fan of the Cardinals and Blues. Seth enjoyed going to Lou Yager Lake in Litchfield, IL.
