Emmett Lewis McKnight, a resident of Headland, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 77. Mr. McKnight was born on November 26, 1940 in Dale County, the son of Howell and Bertie Mae McKnight, and lived the early years of his life in Newton. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Judy Phillips McKnight; his two daughters, Michelle McKnight Windham and Melinda (Andy) Hodge; his two grandsons, Rob (Brittany) Windham and Andrew Hodge; his two granddaughters, Jill Windham Tyre and Miranda Windham; one great-granddaughter, Eva Marie Windham; his two brothers, Donald (Mary) McKnight and Dennis (Carol) McKnight; his sister, Joette (Bob) Bankston; two sisters-in-law, Katy Benton and Annette McKnight; several nieces and nephews.
