Ethyle Eileen Ackelson, 87, of Chariton died Dec. 26, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Ethyle was born on Sept. 12, 1919, in Madison County to Lester V. and Arta A. (Hillis) Powell. Her marriage to C. Wayne Ackelson took place on Feb. 25, 1952. She had been an elementary school teacher and a nurse's aide. Ethyle was a member of Bible Holiness Church in Chariton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Lyle Powell.
She is survived by her son, David Ackelson of Olathe, Kan.; her daughter, Becky Kruse of Chariton; one grandchild; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
