TEWKSBURY - Paul Francis Lambert, age 79, a U.S.A.F. Veteran and well known resident of Tewksbury, died peacefully in the care of his family and hospice, Saturday afternoon, August 25, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Cardoza) Lambert, with whom he had celebrated a fifty-fourth wedding anniversary this past June 28th.
Paul was born in Cambridge in July 1939, one of five children of the late Anthony and Bridget (Hennessy) Lambert, and raised in Cambridge. Paul enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, served as an Aircraft Mechanic, and was honorably discharged from Sheppard A.F.B. in Texas in 1960. After his marriage, he and Shirley moved to Tewksbury to raise their family.
Paul retired from the Highway and Roads Division of the Tewksbury Department of Public Works, as Road Foreman, after twenty-six years of service. He was extremely active in the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge, 2040, where he held many offices within the club, and also served as a Lodge Bartender for decades. Paul was also a member of the D.A.V. Post 110 in Tewksbury, the American Legion Post 259 in Tewksbury, and the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Coppens Council 4336 in Tewksbury.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Brian P. Lambert and his life partner, Michelle Wackrow of Dracut and Kevin M. Lambert and his wife Paula (McShane) Lambert of Billerica; four grandchildren, Jessica L. Lambert , Kylie A. Lambert, Shane M. Lambert, and Jacob M. Lambert; a brother, John Lambert and his wife Patricia of Tewksbury, a sister, Mary Lambert of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his sister Betty Parker and brother Anthony Joseph Lambert.
Visiting hours Thursday, August 30, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will be held Friday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Tewksbury Cemetery.
