Mrs. Alma Jean Carvin, the mother of Bishop Henry M. Williamson, Sr., passed away on Sunday night, August 19, 2018 in Gary, Indiana. Mrs. Carvin attended Lane College in Jackson, TN and faithfully worked as a special needs teacher for Lake County Schools for many years. She was a devoted member of Israel CME Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Matron Club, a missionary, and on Lay Council. She would later become the youth director of West Side CME Church, her son's first assignment into the ministry. During her later years, she was a member of Allen Chapel CME Church. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Bishop Henry M. Williamson (Dr. Doris Williamson), two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
