Jerome Olshove was a City Police Officer in Detroit, Michigan. He died in the line of duty at age 32. Officer Olshove was responding to a looting call, shortly after midnight on Holbrook Street. It was during the 1967 Detroit Race Riots. Officer Olshove and another Officer began to struggle with a suspect, the suspect gained possession of the other Officers service weapon, and shot and killed Officer Olshove. Over 80 Officers were injured during those riots, and two firefighters were killed.
