He was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Oxford. The son of the late Carl and Louisa (Detlefsen) Solberg. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army where he won the Bronze Star.
He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Myron Treffery of Waterbury, Mrs. Katherine Quadrato and Ms. Cheryl Solberg, both of Naugatuck; one son, Walter A. Solberg of Waterbury; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Thyren of Naugatuck; four brothers, Ernest of Oxford, Carl of Cape Cod, MA, Harry of Cheshire and John of Los Angeles, CA, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private military funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
