Our kind and loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Lorraine Kay Larsen, age 96, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2018 in Holladay, UT with family by her side.
She was born on July 5, 1922 in Annabella, UT. A daughter of Samuel Arthur and Medora Hooper Kay. She married her sweetheart Carl T Larsen from Glenwood, UT in 1939. Marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Lorraine was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Lorraine was a beautiful lady and always dressed like she was ready to go shopping (which she loved to do), or ready to go to church.
Lorraine enjoyed cooking, keeping her house clean, quilting, she made family members several quilts along with knitting afghans for grandchildren, her hand embroidered pillowcases and dish towels were amazing, she also enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her gorgeous roses. Going on trips in their RV with family and friends. She was always ready to prepare a delicious meal to whomever stopped to visit her and Carl.
She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren and extended family. We will carry on her examples of love and confidence throughout our lives. Lorraine will be missed by family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Samuel Arthur and Medora Hooper Kay, one brother and four sisters, husband, Carl T Larsen, grandson, Marty Lambson, granddaughter, Julie Baclawski, and son-in-law, Gus Lambson.
Survived by three children; Terry Larsen (Ann), Washington, UT, Dean Larsen (Maxine) Washington, UT, Janene Lambson (Gus, deceased), Murray, UT, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren.
Special thanks to the staff and nurses at Rocky Mountain Healthcare, Pacifica at Millcreek, Holladay Healthcare Centers, the Wheatons, Halls, and Whites from South Jordan, and a very special friend, Merlene.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27 at 12:00 at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 S 900 E, Murray, UT. A viewing will be held 10:30-11:30 at the same location. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road 10600 S, Sandy, UT.
