Andrea, (Cherne) Dreisbach Miller, 69 passed away Thursday August 23, 2018 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born June 26, 1949 in Virginia, MN and raised in Middletown Township, New Jersey, later moving to Louisville, Kentucky.

She was an Alumni of Middletown Township High School (Middletown, NJ), Eastern Kentucky University, BA in Elementary Education, University of Louisville- Masters of Education, and University of Louisville - Rank I in Elementary Science.

Andrea received numerous awards including the Jefferson County Schools Golden Apple Award, Jefferson County Teachers Association School House Award, and received several grants from the National Gardens Association. One award she was particularly proud of took her to Lawrence Hall of Science- University of California, Berkeley and National Science Teacher Association Teacher Scholarship.

Over the years of teaching Andrea was a quintessential teacher at Newburg, Dunn, Cochran City, Wilt and Lowe Elementaries and retired in 2006 after teaching for over 40 years. After retirement she continued to be a substitute teacher in Jefferson County.

Her passion was spending time with her five grandsons and watching them in their many activities, spending time with friends on the beach, reading on the beach, and teaching and caring for children to be "quintessential".

She was preceded in death by her parents Emmett Cherne and Beatrice Kunze Cherne of Middletown Township, New Jersey.

She is survived a daughter, Amy Robinson (Roy) and their children, Thomas & Clay; son Douglas Dreisbach (Ann) and their children, Jacob, Johnathon, and Tyler; sisters from New Jersey, Joyce Kaiser, Barbara McAleer, and Nancy Cherne of West Palm Beach, FL; the love of her life, At Last, Tommy Toombs, and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Monday August 27, 2018 at Holy Trinity 501 Cherrywood Rd. with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday August 26, 2018.
