Scott Anthony Wolf, “Scotty,” passed away in a tragic car accident on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at age 26. He was a senior at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton where he made many cherished friends and proudly served on the lacrosse team.

Scotty was born and raised in Olympia, Washington. He graduated from Capital High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. Scotty earned his associate degree with high honors from South Puget Sound Community College and was finishing up his bachelor’s degree at FAU.

Scotty loved sports of all types – snowboarding, mountain biking and mixed martial arts among them. He enjoyed participating in sports not only because they pushed him physically and emotionally, but also because he formed a close personal relationship with his fellow teammates.

Scotty had the rare gift of being able to make friends instantly with people from all walks of life. He held friends dear to his heart whether he knew them for a few months or for many years. Scotty could light up a room with his smile and had an infectious laugh. He was so excited when his parents brought home a puppy last year and he quickly became Bella’s favorite person. Scotty also had great affection for his childhood dog, Brandy.

Scotty had a philosophical side as well. He loved contemporary music that made you think. He appreciated listening to inspirational speakers who made you dream. Scotty enjoyed his internship this summer with Ripple Effects Promotions in Fort Myers and was excited about learning more about sales and marketing.

Scotty loved living in Florida and especially enjoyed spending time with his friends at the beach. He liked to travel and make new friends. He had high hopes of seeing more of the world.

Above all else, Scotty cherished his family: his mother, Arlene; his father, Scott; his dear brother, Nick; and his extended family in Florida and Illinois. They include his very supportive grandmother, Ina Wolf; his aunts, Barbara Nardi, Debra Wolf, and Michelle Wolf as well as his uncle Frank Barbaro, whom he texted daily.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Helen Barbaro and Fred Wolf.

The Wolf family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Scotty, one in Boca Raton, Florida, where he was currently living, and one in his hometown of Olympia WA. The event in Florida will take place on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Student Union Building - Room 203, Sago Palm Room, 777 Glades Road in Boca Raton. All are invited.

The service in Olympia, WA will be held at a later date which will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made to the FAU lacrosse team in memory of Scotty to Coach Bryan Coco. Thank you for your friendship with Scotty and for your outpouring of support to our family.

Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
