It is with great sadness that the family of David Allan Alford announce his passing on 8/19/2018, following vascular/cardiac related medical issues. A native of Chicago, IL, Dave graduated from Fenger High School and Illinois Wesleyan University. His professional career began with the Comptroller of the Currency in Illinois, and he went onto become one of the youngest bank presidents in the state. He worked with a number of financial institutions in Illinois, Colorado and California, before starting his own consulting company. A longtime resident of Sacramento, CA, Dave served the California banking community for over 30 years, forging a number of partnerships along the way. A passion was coaching for the Fair Oaks Soccer Club. He is fondly remembered as a "tough love" coach, but his players truly knew his dedication to their success. He loved a great margarita, the Chicago White Sox, wearing shorts in the winter, and keeping everyone on their toes. Dave was preceded in death by hisfather and mother, Morris and Evelyn; his sister-in-law, Sue; and his beloved dogs Roxy and Corky. He is survived by his daughter (Jennifer Alford), son-in law (Joel Murray), four grandsons (Kyle, Casey, Cooper and Brody Murray); brother (Fred Alford); two sisters and their spouses (Sandy & Joe Chavez; Joyce & Reverend Robert Claus); his companion, Linda Paskiewicz; coffee buddy, Andy Morris; and the many nieces/grandnieces and nephews/grandnephews whom he loved dearly. Prior to passing, he expressed eternal love and gratitude to those who dedicated time and patience to his compassionate care. Per his final wishes, Dave's ashes will come to rest on the California coast. Please consider making a donation to the Sacramento SPCA in memoriam.
