WESTERVILLE – Margaret “Peggy” S. Hood, 84, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 22, 2018, at her place of residence in Westerville.

She was born Oct. 17, 1933, in New Castle, Pa., to the late James and Mary Ralston Lewis.

Her loving husband, William “Bill” E. Hood, whom she married on Nov. 13, 1954, survives Margaret.

She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch in 1952. Along with her husband and family, Margaret resided in Canfield, for nearly 50 years. She worked as a secretary in the Canfield High School for 20 years before retiring in 1994. Margaret enjoyed music and singing praises to the Lord all her life. She was a member of the Old North Church where she was a choir member and soloist for 35 years. She was also a gifted artist and painter. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband and family.

Her two parents; son Bradley J. Hood; and her sister, Helen Leach, preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons and their wives, Evan and Kathleen Hood of Westerville, and Kurt and Angie Hood of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter-in-law, Joyce O’Neal (Bradley) Hood of Aledo, Texas; brother-in-law, Jim Leach of Youngstown; and five grandchildren, Nathan, Micah, Ben, Andrew, and John.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel and Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Old North Church in Canfield, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Enlow officiating.

Burial will be in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.

“Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. – Psalm 96:1-2.”
