Presbyterian Missionary for 39 years in Chile. Graduated from Lennox College, Iowa i 1881 and Union Theological Seminary (NYC) in 1884. He was appointed to the Chile Mission five months prior to his graduating from Union Seminary and sailed for Chile in Aug. 1884. He is survived by his wife and eight children, two daughters and six sons.

Relatives listed on the report for notification are Gordon G and John T Garvin (sons), Miss A E Garvin (sister) and Dr. Justin A. Garvin (son in Cleveland, Ohio)
