Obituary for Mrs. Carol Lorraine Emerson
Mrs. Carol L. Emerson, 69, of Lee County, died on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Brooks will officiate.
Mrs. Emerson was born on November 9, 1948 in Pensacola FL to the late Frank and Opal Guerin Roberson, their first of three daughters. She graduated in 1966 from Southern High School in Lothian Maryland. The family moved to Castleberry FL in 1966 where she started working in Federal Civil Service. During her career, Mrs. Emerson moved to St Louis Missouri, Orlando FL and then finalized her career at the Marine Corps Logistics Base. She served a vital role in the Civil Service and received an award from the Secretary of the Navy. Mrs. Emerson was an advocate for those with developmental disabilities and very active in Autism Speaks and GRASP. She had a deep love for, and was deeply loved by, family and friends.
Survivors include husband, Luther Emerson of Lee County; son, Tony Rodeghier of Thomasville;
