Jane was born and raised in Yonkers, N.Y. and attended New Paltz College. While living in New Jersey, Jane was a freelance writer and member of the Women’s Guild at the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains. Jane and her husband Jack retired to Florida in 1993. There she was a member of the National League of American Pen Women, and was active in the Herb Society and Plantation Bay women’s golf. She enjoyed and was known for her art, especially her watercolor note cards. She was at peace near “her ocean.”
Jane was predeceased in death by her husband, Jack, in 2013. She was extremely proud of the family she leaves behind; her children, David (Carolyn) Simonton, Carole (Ken) Peterson, Carol (Gary) Bond, Nancy (Paul) Mutch, John (Cindy) Peterson, and William (Jackie) Simonton; her 13 grandchildren; Blaire, Colin, Evan, Sarah, Nikki, Jake, Paul, Amy, John, Jack, Amanda, Brittany, Chris, and her 4 great grandchildren; Chaz, Nolan, Juliet and Anabelle. Also predeceased by her sister Barbara and parents Marshall and Ethel Sickels.
