Annie Downs, 78, of Lubbock was called home to the Lord on Friday, May 4, 2007 in Lubbock. She was born on March 10, 1929 in Hot Springs, N.M. to the late Elbert and Lois Eades. She married George Downs on July 8, 1945. He passed away on July 28, 2001. They were married for 56 years. She was a member of the Christian Life Assembly of God Church, where she was active in women's ministries. She was a librarian at Haynes Elementary.

Annie was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie on May 3, 1990.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Hall, Kathy Bryan, Beth Rutherford, Kayla Hall; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at Agape Funeral Chapel. Celebration of life services will take place at Christian Life Assembly of God on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 1 p.m. with D.E. Buchanan and John Murdoch officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock.
