Mr. Jonathan E. Dean, 43, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Chambersburg Hospital, after battling cancer since his diagnosis in February of this year.

Born March 20, 1975 in Dunn, NC, he was the son of Rev. Gary L. and Ellen Dean of Dunn, NC.

He graduated from Socastee High School, Myrtle Beach, SC with the class of 1993. He went on to earn his degree in Biblical Education from Foundations Bible College, Dunn, NC.

He married Jessica (Berkebile) Dean in January of 2004 in Greencastle, PA. They made their home in Fayetteville for the past 10 years.

His work experience includes: Criswell Chevrolet, Thurmont, MD; ManPower Group, Chambersburg, PA; Exit Realty, Waynesboro, PA; Fed Ex, Hagerstown, MD and Met Life Home Loans, Hagerstown, MD.

He was an involved member of Pond Bank Independent Church, Chambersburg, PA; a member of the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and a member of BNI, Chambersburg.

Jonathan will be remembered as a man who easily made friends. He was easy to talk to and had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh.

He loved food, whether cooking it or eating it, martial arts, watching movies, reading and going to the beach.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by four children: Kendra Berkebile, Abigayle Dean, Cole Dean and Caleb Dean, all of Fayetteville, PA; his sister, Amy Jackson, and her husband, Nathan of Ashville, NC and brother, David Dean and his wife, Eleanor of Dunn, NC and five nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. in Monday, August 27, 2018 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. Waynesboro, PA, with Rev. Dr. Mervil Stambaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Strang Cemetery, South Mountain, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 26th and again one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
