Margaret McKee Shores, 87, a resident of Los Chavez, New Mexico, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, in an Albuquerque hospital.

Funeral services were Saturday in First Baptist Church of Los Chavez.

Monday, May 7, 2007, a visitation/viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola, followed by graveside services at 1:00 p.m., in McBee Cemetery at Ovalo.

Margaret was born April 24, 1920, in Merkel to Jim and Lucy Ferguson McKee. She attended school at Ovalo and then married James Wayland Shores in 1939. She lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Green River, Wyoming, before returning to New Mexico, where she lived 24 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Los Chavez.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, James Wayland Shores and Mac R. Wood; a grandson, Kelly Shores; and a brother-in-law, C. B. Campbell.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Wayne Shores and wife Caroline of Cloudcroft; a daughter, Rebecca Rivera and husband John of Los Chavez; a sister, Lois Campbell of Abilene; a brother, J. C. McKee and wife Melba of Abilene; five grandchildren, Troy Shores and wife, Yvonne, Sharma Shores, Lori Thompson and husband Dave, T. J. Rivera and wife Jennifer, and Jace Rivera and fiancée Lacy Allen; nine great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
