Mr. Joe Don Butler, age 81, of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018. Mr. Butler attended the Murray State College in Oklahoma then went into the United States Army for 3 years. He returned to Georgia where he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Mr. Butler owned Carpeton Mills for 22 years and was a cattle farmer.
Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Butler and Thelma Parks, brother James Butler, half-brothers Bobby Harrison, Travis Parks and McKay Parks and a sister Bennie Butler.
He is survived by His wife Alva Butler of Chatsworth, several nieces, and nephews also survive.
The Family will be receiving friends from 5 pm until 9 pm Friday and Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Dan Sluder officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Heights Cemetery
