Nancy was noted in correspondence to her sister, Louisa Catherine Johnson Adams, then in St. Petersburg, as dying in childbirth in Dec 1810, so this memorial is also noted with that birth and (per her mother's inscription) death date, assuming both mother and child died together at, or near, her birth. That cannot be confirmed, however, and the correspondence provided no further details. It remains almost certain that the infant was born and died in December, but the dates could have spanned a period of days, or longer, and the infant may have preceded her mother as well.
No official death record for this infant has been found and no further details are known, gender, or name (if named), nor a burial record found from Rock Creek Cemetery. Sufficient additional information has been found since 2018 supporting that Wallis was the daughter of about one year of age who died in 1803, and for whom the Rock Creek burial record was found. The infant, appearing unnamed, is now noted as the documented offspring dying with, or near, her mother Nancy Hellen in 1810.
No official death record for this infant has been found and no further details are known, gender, or name (if named), nor a burial record found from Rock Creek Cemetery.
