William was the yougest of six children born to David Lawrence and Elizabeth (Hendricks) Kivett. He married Ella Elizabeth Howard in 1892 and they had six children: David Howard, James S., Georgia Elizabeth, William Seymore Jr., Virginia McKinley and Paul Hendrix. David and James died at a young age.

(Note: Information from R. Kivett #47430698 that his grandfather wrote in 1936 that William's birth date was July 6, 1856.)

W. S. KIVETT TO BE BURIED AT GREENE HILL CEMETERY

The remains of W. S. Kivett, of Winston-Salem, who died suddenly Monday night in Norfolk, Va., will be brought to Greensboro today from Winston-Salem and interment will occur at Green Hill cemetery at 1:30 o'clock. Mr. Kivett, who was 65 years old, formerly lived in Greensboro and owned a bakery near the passenger station. He left here eight years ago and went to Winston-Salem, where he lived until a few months ago, going from there to Norfolk to work as a carpenter. While in Greensboro he was a member of Asheboro street Baptist church. His mother and two children are buried in Greensboro. He is survived by his wife and four children. Mr. Kivett was well known in Greensboro and has a host of friends here.
