James A. "Trapper" Horning, 79, of Parish, NY; passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was born in Syracuse, NY; son of the late Harold and Mabel Horning. James served his country in the United States Navy. He worked at Schoeller Technical Paper for 30 years. He was a member of the Russell Horning Post #601 and the VFW Post #8823.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Theresa in 2017, his son, Eric in 2016 and brother, Dale Horning.
James is survived by his daughters, Tammy Horning, of Mexico and Debbie Kelly, of Central Square; two sons, Edward Horning and Marc Horning, both of Parish; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and his three brothers, Donald Horning, Harold Horning Jr. and Steven Horning.
Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 2983 W. Main Street, Parish, NY. Interment with Military Honors will take place in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 at the funeral home.
