Melissa was born in Waco, Texas, to Merell and Maurine Kemp. Her hobbies included writing poetry, singing karaoke and playing on her computer. You could always see her in the stands at any of the children's sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her father; four nephews; two great-nieces; and a brother-in-law.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, George Matthews, of Bellmead; daughter, Chyann Graham; son, Nathan Kemp; mother, Maurine Kemp, of Bellmead; brothers, Kenneth Kemp and wife, Linda, of Hallsburg, Marvin Kemp, of Bellmead, Melvin Kemp and his wife, Pam, of Robinson, Mark Kemp and his wife, Melanie, of Bellmead, Johnny Kemp and his wife, Ginger, of Bellmead, and David Kemp, of Bellmead; sisters, Shirley Jenkins and Judy Graham and her husband, Ronnie, of Bellmead; 40 nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nephews; and numerous other relative and friends.
