Albert S. Abbott, 79, of White River Junction, Vt., a winter resident of Daytona Beach for many years, died Wednesday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Mr. Abbott was born in Lawrence, Mass., and was a 1939 graduate of Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H. He established the White River Coach Lines and ran it until it was purchased by Vermont Transit in the late 60s. He was also associated with Concord Trailways, Concord, N.H., where he was vice president in the early 70s. He was a member of United Methodist Church, White River Junction and active many other civic organizations in Vermont.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian; three sons; a stepdaughter; two stepsons; a sister; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church, 32 Gates St., White River Junction, Vt. 05001, or to the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, 125 Mascoma St., Lebanon, N.H. 03766. Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, is in charge.
