Famous heroine who with Parnell Manter and Maria Allen " destroyed with powder a Liberty Pole erected near this spot to prevent its capture by the British in 1776." See photos of the commemorative plaque at the MV Seaman Museum on Main St in VIneyard Haven (Tisbury) MA. At the time Polly was about 16 years old.
Unfortunately, Find A Grave does not consider this patriotic heroine of our Amerian Revolution to be famous enough to be included on their "famous" list.
