Formerly of Provincetown; owned fishing boats, motel
WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Captain Henry Passion, age 99, of West Palm Beach, FL, and formerly of Provincetown, died Sunday, October 22, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.

His family immigrated to the United States from Fuesta, Portugal. He was born in Provincetown on July 19, 1907. He raised his family in Provincetown along with his late wife, Florence (Macara) Passion for 52 years.

He retired in 1971 and moved to Florida. He later married Roberta (Earle) Passion, who died in 1999.

Mr. Passion was the oldest living member of the Walter Welsh Council Knights of Columbus. Capt. Henry was a fisherman for years. He owned three commercial fishing boats, The Liberty, The Liberty II, and the Liberty Belle, as well as a sporting boat the Sinbad. He was the former owner of the For N aft Motel in Beach Pointe, North Truro.

Henry was greatly loved by his family. This past summer, he celebrated his 99th birthday along with his entire family in Wareham.

He is survived by his four daughters, Diane and son-in-law, Brad Sage of West Palm Beach, FL, Eileen and deceased son-in-law Dennis Aresta of Onset, MA, Sonya and son-in-law, John Santos of West Hartford, CT, and Carmen and son-in-law, Cliff Wade of Wareham, MA. He had 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marion Thomas of Rochester, MA, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Gately-McHoul Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown, on Wednesday, October 25, from 5 to 8 pm with a Vigil Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince Street, Provincetown, on Thursday, at 10:30 am, followed by burial in St. Peter Cemetery.
