Eunice Anna (Osgood) Nelson, went to glory peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 100 at Mill Pond Senior Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A family graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.

Eunice was born December 9, 1917 to True and Anna Osgood in St. Cloud, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High in 1935. She first met the love of her life Russell Nelson at First Baptist Church in St. Cloud in 1935 and they married in 1937. They moved to Des Moines in 1949 where they started their own business, Nelson Seat Cover Company. Prior to that she worked for Hilger Industrial Company in St. Cloud, MN, then worked for The Juvenile Home in Des Moines, IA and also Dean Studio, Des Moines, IA. Eunice was an active member of Capital City Baptist Church for many years, until physically unable to attend. She loved serving the Lord. The family takes great comfort in knowing she is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior. She has two sons; Rod and Lowell; two daughters, Carol and Jody; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and loved them very much.

She is survived by one of 14 siblings; her brother Jimmy Osgood; oldest daughter, Carol Powell; two sons, Rod (Mary) Nelson, Lowell (Denise) Nelson, and the youngest daughter Jody (Mike) Anderson; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Russell Nelson; parents, True and Anna Osgood; four sisters and eight brothers. Son-in-law; Jerry Powell and daughter-in-law, Nancy Nelson.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mill Pond and Hospice for taking such great care of our parents while they resided at Mill Pond for many years.
