Karen Whitney-DeLeon, born March 3, 1963, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday morning August 22, 2018 during her 2 month illness at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA. Karen was 55 years old.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 10 years, Benny DeLeon; her mother Violet Whitney; her brother Ed Whitney Jr; and her cousin, Dixie Flores (AKA 'Sis') who helped care for her several months prior to her death.

Karen went to Warden School K-12. She attended Big Bend Community College (BBCC) where she received an AA degree in Early Childhood Education and then taught for 15 years at BBCC.
