Samuel Derrick Wall, 98, widower of Gertrude Perry Wall, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Mr. Derrick was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Nathan Michael and Lettie Ruth Avant Wall. He was a retired farmer having grown tobacco, corn, and soy beans and retired from International Paper Co. as a machine operator. He enjoyed raising pigs, and cows, hunting, blue grass music, the mountians, and gardening; but he was best known for growing collards, watermelons, and peanuts. He was always willing to help his neighbors and friends, but his greatest joys were his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his late wife Gertrude He was predeceased by sons, Robert Edwin "Rocky" Wall and Allan Wall; son-in-law, Scotty Altman; brothers, James Wall, Robbie Wall, and Boyd Wall; sisters, Bernice W. Jacobs and Eunice W. Cribb.
