George G. Wilson, 86, of Elizabethtown, Ky., and formerly of Horse Cave, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a native of Graves County. He and his wife Jeanne owned and operated the former Young's Department Store in Horse Cave. He was a member of the Horse Cave Methodist Church, former chairman of the Horse Cave Housing Commission and a member of the Bearwallow Masonic Lodge and OES Chapter. He was a son of the late Raymond T. and Laura Griffin Wilson and he was preceded in death by a son, George Ward Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Wilson of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Jean Glynn Davis of Elizabethtown; one son, Robert H. Wilson of Birmingham, Ala.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nell M. Rogers, Ruby Boyd and Linda Crosslin, all of Mayfield; and two nephews and three nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Sunday) in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
