Ace Kenwood Hill, 70, of Payne Street, died Wednesday at his home. He was former owner and operator of the old Hill's Grocery at 25th and Duncan streets for 18 years. He was a retired employee of A & P Co., and a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Donald K. Hill; a daughter, Mary Rose Sayre; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Paul of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Doretta Ambrose and Mrs. Myrtle Ball; and a grandchild. . The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Portland Memorial Chapel, 518 N. 26th St., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the carpet fund at Portland Avenue Baptist Church, 3213 Portland Ave. 40212.
