Chester Owen “Chet” Adams, 76, Altoona, died Monday. He was born in Bedford, son of the late Dorothy McNutt. On Jan. 15, 1964, he married Mary M. McIntosh. Surviving are his wife; three children: Katherine L. Perez, Charles C. Adams and Sherry L. Adams; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Rodney, David and Bruce Adams, Ida Smith and Nina Young. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.

Adams of Altoona; eight grandchildren, Kevin Helsel, Kandie Helsel, Wayne Hinkle, Layla Adams-Campbell, Clarissa “Clarie” Adams, Charles Adams, Jay-Jay Adams-Best and Shemar Diggs; numerous great grandchildren; three brothers, Rodney, David and Bruce Adams; two sisters, Ida Smith and Nina Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chet retired as a steamer from Warnaco in 1993 following 30 years’ service.
He enjoyed cars, professional wrestling and hunting.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Friday August 24, 2018 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
