Frances M. Stratton passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born in Clipper, Washington. After graduating from High School she attended Nursing School in Mount Vernon, WA. She met and married William (Bill) J. Stratton in 1950. He preceded her in death in March 1988. They raised two sons, Mark and Gary and resided in Wedgewood, WA. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. A wonderful baker, Hummel collector and gardener.
Fran was dedicated to her nursing career from 1947 – 1993. She worked and retired after 27 years in surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. She was devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. From 1997-2012 she actively volunteered her service to Assumption Catholic Church. She was nominated by Rev. Oliver Duggan to receive the Benemerenti medal. An honour awarded by Pope Francis. The medal was presented to her on September 26, 2013 for Christian service in appreciation as a model of Christian Living as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister to Assumption Catholic Church. This was her greatest honor and displayed proudly in her home.
Fran is survived by her two sons, Mark (Aly) and Gary (Chris); and six grandchildren: Jesse, Elizabeth (deceased), Timothy, Melissa, Matthew and Daniel; six great-grandchildren; and brother Frank (Susan) Ziemba
