Charles Davis Bonin, age 78, went to be with our Lord on August 20, 2018. Known to his loved ones as “Charlie,” he was born on October 14, 1939 in Ville Platte, LA to Voorhies Bonin and Lois Pullen Bonin. Charlie was a resident of Bishop, TX. He also spent 21 years in the military with three in the Marines and 18 in the Army with tours in Vietnam, Korea, and Berlin; retiring as a Captain. Charlie enjoyed gardening, cooking, photography, and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. 

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and his son Mark Bonin. He is survived by his wife Joy “Mickey” Bonin, his brothers Gene Bonin, Perry Bonin and his wife Gale, his sons Walt Kupke and his wife Dayna, Karl Kupke and his wife Ann, Kenneth Kupke and his wife Heidi, 11 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be presided by Pastor Matthew Ulmer and held on August 24, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 801 East Main Street, Bishop, Texas, at 10 a.m. with an interment to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
