Funeral services for Bruce Robert Turner will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Turner Church, Ben Turner Road, Pitkin with Reverend Burton Beard and Reverend Harmon Moore officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Turner Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Bruce, 63, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born January 15, 1955 in Oakdale to the union of Benjamin Franklin Turner and Naomi Hazel (Bond) Turner.

He was a member of the Oakdale Apostolic Church and was a bass soloist. Bruce worked as an administrator for Sulzer Turbo of LaPorte, Texas. He was an avid gun collector and gun smith, loved deer and squirrel hunting. His most enjoyable time is spending time, visiting, singing gospel music, and playing the guitar with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Naomi Turner.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 29 years, Angela (Welch) Turner of Oakdale; three sons, Ben (Stacie) Turner of Atascocita, Texas, Mickey (Edna) Turner of Youngsville, and Robert Turner of Oklahoma; two daughters, Erica Turner (Kerry LaCoste) of Erath and Shelly Baker of Spokane, Washington; four stepchildren, Michael Thomas of Oakdale, Holly Cobb of Colorado Springs, Colorado, David (Tammy) Thomas of Ragley, and Jerry (Sarah) Thomas of Oberlin; one brother, George (Judy) Turner of Gonzales; two sisters, Wanda (Kevin) Gilmore of Sugartown and Elaine (Jeff) Herbert of Arlington, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be A.C. Turner, Hebert Turner, Ryan Welch, Jordan Welch, Darin Welch, Tyler Thomas, Bradley Thomas, and Eric Welch.
Visitation will be held in the Turner Church in Pitkin, Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in the church.
