Barbara Janice Ramsey, age 79, of Texarkana, TX died Sunday, August 19, 2018 in a local hospice facility. She was born on January 17, 1939 in Junction City, AR to Alton and Naomi Nicklas. She was a medical assistant and a member of Rhema Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ramsey and a daughter, Lisa Duncan.
Survivors include two step-sons, Rick Ramsey and Robert Ramsey; two granddaughters, Chelsea Phillips and Taylor Phillips; one great-granddaughter, Jozee Holmes; one great-grandson, Ja’Tyi Holmes and one brother, Derrell Nicklas and numerous other friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Jessie Haynes officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to The Wounded Warrior Foundation or St. Jude’s. Arrangements are under the care of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
