Curtis Lile Davenport, 72, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Helen Keller Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, from 6-9 p.m.at Colbert Memorial Chapel.
The services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Rick Gilley is officiating.
He was a native of Colbert County and a member of Abbie Baptist Church. He was a home builder in the Shoals for over 40 years. He was a former member of the Home Builders Association and former member of Colbert County Exchange Club and owner of Curtis Davenport Construction Company. He was a loving husband, father, Paw and a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene Davenport; brother, Lendon Davenport.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Davenport;
daughters, Cynthia Higgins (Joe), Darlene Lansdell (Freddie) and Angela Brown (Brett);
grandchildren, William and Jolene Higgins, Dwight and Orrie Lansdell, Mary Beth and Gracie Brown; great-grandchild, Averie Lansdell;
brothers, Jimmy Davenport, of Muscle Shoals, Claude Davenport, of Florence, and Billy Davenport, of Texas; sisters, Lillie Bell White, of Killen, Gayle Rowell and Nadine Willard, of Muscle Shoals.
Pallbearers will be Dwight and Orrie Lansdell, William Higgins, William Crosswhite, Jimmy Davenport and Josh Rohling.
The family would like to express great gratitude to the PCU unit at Helen Keller for the care you gave him.
