Glenna Burns Waldroup, 84, of Bryson City, passed away at home after a long period of declining health, Monday, August 20, 2018. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Laura Bumgarner Burns. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Taylor, Jimmy, Helen, Charles, Faye, Fannie, Janie, and Grady.
Glenna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very kind and hardworking. She loved the Maroon Devils. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and being with family.

Glenna is survived by four daughters: Sarah B. Crisp (Lewis), Darlene Sawyer, Diane Jones all of Bryson City, and Laura Griffin (Flint) of Cherokee; two sons: Jamie Waldroup and Jody Waldroup (Becky) both of Bryson City; grandchildren: Jason Sawyer (Brandi), Kristen Sawyer (Paul), Josh Waldroup, Allie Waldroup (Justin), Cody Waldroup, Amy Jones, Aaron Jones, Brandon Burdette (Norma) and Chandler Smith, all of Bryson City; Perky Jones of Indianapolis, IN, Robbie Jones (Shona) of Charleston, SC, and Carroll Crisp (Kristina) of Chattanooga, TN, Andrew Griffin, and Daniel Griffin, both of Cherokee, NC; great-grandchildren: Keyanthae, Kaden, Hunter, Shyla, Bryce, Carson, Ryder, Ryleigh, Levi, Carter and Blaze; three sisters: Flonnie Ramsey and Jessie Dyer, both of Bryson City, and Betty Ward of Newport News, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Ray Ball and Rev. John Tagliarini will officiate with burial at Watkins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
